The Shanti Ashram engages itself in various welfare activities following the ideal of serving the God manifested in man.

CONCEPTUALISATION

Health is an important contributor to productivity and economic growth of India. There is a need to focus on special groups the primitive tribals, weaker section of the society, dalits, other backward communities, disable women and children, prphans etc. Health Care Services be accessible to all people in respective of cast, creed and religion.

HEALTHCARE SERVICE

Healthcare has been one of the prime areas of focus for the Ashram. It provides both curative and preventive healthcare to the poorest and downtrodden of the community around, especially, women, children and aged persons. A Charitable Outdoor Clinic run by the Ashram caters to initial medical atention and advice which is otherwise out of reach of these sections of the society. In cases of serious complications, patients are referred to specialist hospitals by the ambulance of the Ashram. The Ashram organizes a regular Mobile Health Unit to visit remote areas with doctors and other medical staff to impart healthcare and treatment. Health Camps are organized regularly. Regular awareness camps are also held on preventive healthcare, particularly for the Birhor and Santhal tribes around. Medicines and Clinical Services are provided free of cost. Eye and Cataract Camps are also held in the Ashram Campus with eminent Opthalmologists. Pulse Polio programmes have been conducted with field level evaluation to look into the effectiveness of the project.

Our organization rendered free ECG to 42 persons of below proverty level including male and female. Our health care services focused on the aged, tribals, poor people with disabilities and women.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP

The Ashram is regularly organising Blood Donation Camp with the active support of Indian Red Cross Society, Hazaribagh and is receving good response from the people.

OTHER EVENTS OF IMPORTANCE

Various fairs and festivals were organized at the Ashram premises to stress on the need for equality based society free from caste, religious bias and creed. Religious leaders from accross religions participated in these occasions and stressed on social harmony and national integration. A mass mobilization was also facilitated through various IEC strategies for awareness generation and to enhance capacities of deprived segment.

 

Nara Narayan Seva is a major item in all fair and festivals organized by the Ashram wherein prasad are being served with out considering cast, creed and religion.

The Ashram strongly belives that Nature is our mother. She is the sole source of our developmental activities. Destroying her, we could not make any sustainable economical development of the downtrodden. While the Ashram is taking various social security agenda, it has also been given equal importance to protect Nature under taking special drives through participation of rural people in eco-balence activities and promotion of social forestry.

TRAINING ON OBJECTIVE ORIENTED PROJECT PLANNING

Objective oriented project planning workshop was organized at the Ashram for 16 NGO representatives. The main objective of the training was to equip the participants with newer ideas and techniques in the field of project formulation.

HOME FOR THE AGED

The Ashram has started a Home for the Aged for aged persons who have no one to look after them. At present, six persons are being lodged at the Home with all facilities like medical, revelations, fooding, etc.

MOBILE MEDICAL SERVICE

To cater to the immediate healthcare needs, the Shanti Ashram has begun operation of a Mobile Medical Service. The mobile medical unit has doctors and para-medical staff and visits villages in and around Hazaribag to check patients and provide medicines on charitable basis.

We need to ensure the project comes up in the shortest possible time. We earnestly look forward for your support and kind co-operation towards fulfilment of our mission.
